I hiked one of my favorite loops in Sierra Madre. Started at Baikey Canyon park then descended Mt Wilson trail.
I took two friends. Along the way we checked out Bailey Canyon Falls. It was the first time I ever saw water flowing and I was really excited. It's a beautiful waterfall. We only hiked to the lower falls. Above it has many tiers but it may be hard to access due to overgrowth. It looks like something an experienced canyoneer woukd enjoy.
Anyways, After checking out the falls we headed over to Jones Peak then dropped down to Furst Water. The water was gushing and was knee high. A bit dangerous to cross over. There was also a beautiful mini cascade.
I directed my friends to check out the old gauging system further upstream.
Overall it was a great day with lots of wildflowers along the trail.
Stats: 9 miles, 2300' gain
